Just like today’s person of the day: Afghan photographer Massoud Hossaini, whose photo caught a little girl’s reaction to a suicide bombing.

The photo above illustrates Tarana Akbari, one of the few strong but extremely young survivors in a suicide bombing homicide that killed more than 70 people; including Akbari’s family who came to visit for Ashura.

Although the award is a life accomplishment, the circumstances unto which it was won is not.

Nonetheless, Pulitzer Prize winner Hossaini and his piece brings awareness to the unfortunate injustices happening on the other side to the world; opposite to 9-5 Western routine.

    Google gadgetry set to break out with cyborg-style eye glasses with Internet and video camera

    Welcome, to another episode of thought of day…

    While perusing through the intergalactic digital plane, GoBabu Genie noticed an interesting post: Google Glasses.

    Only up until now, it appears Google Glasses aka code name: “Project X” was made available to the public.

    Google Glasses is set to father a futuristic tale once only articulated in fictional fantasy novels — an integration of human sight with technological mind.

    Indeed, this is more than just a “rumour.”

    Google employees have confirmed Google Glasses will run on Android.

    These “Glasses” will serve users with search results pages — just like any other UI — in one of the two lenses with the capability of relaying information from any mobile phone.

    Calls can be made and users can download applications to improve usage.

    Its silhouette will capture the blueprint the likes of your rugged-style Oakley Thump.

    And yes, you’ll have a functionality that offers more than style and show; Google Glasses will have a built-in small screen, compatible with user vision.

    Its low-resolution camera will have a built-in flash, making it easy for users to snap photos as well as retrieve information from surrounding buildings or scenery.

    Sources say it only takes a simple “tilt of the head” for the user to scroll up and down screen.

    The price? Between $250 – $600 USD with an official release date later this year.
