The Jakarta press announces today that Indonesia threatens to shut down all of BlackBerry messenger services. Rumours have surfaced that RIM has decided to build their server outside of Indonesia; settling for Singapore.

According to the Indonesian Telecommunications Regulation Body (BRTI), “Because RIM has not been cooperative, it is possible that we will soon end BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) and BBM service. BlackBerry therefore, would just be like other cellular phones.”

RIM really can’t seem to catch a break these days, first seeing the lowest stock price numbers since its company debut; dropping 50% in August; then experiencing a loss in top executives; then was held responsible for the UK riots, refusing to shut down their BBM service.

Earlier on this week, two RIM executives were caught completely inebriated drunk on their way to Beijing, forcing the entire plane to make an emergency landing in Vancouver. Then a sales stampede in Indonesia and now deciding to ditch an original commitment made to Indonesia back in September for Singapore.

Now that’s poor management.

Is there anything else left to say?

What would you different if you were the CEO of RIM?

Artist of the day: Miguel Endara, a modern-day pointillist who has taken his passion for pointillism onto another level; documenting every single dot in a 210-hour time frame.

So, how many dots did it take to recreate a Xeroxed photo of his father? 3.2-million; all documented on high-quality camera, of course.

But, how does Endara’s piece match up against the most-highly praised pointillism piece in the world?

Technological singularity, inevitable?

There’s a catch phrase that whispers into my ear as I surf through the waves of the world-wide web: “gendercide.”

The deliberate attack and destruction of the female gender.

Today, in major populated areas in Asia there is a growing unnatural imbalance between girls and boys; men and women.

In China and Northern India there are 120 boys born for every 100 girls.

Why?

Is it because Asian countries often choose tradition over progression–still preferring to view gender under an ancient context where male babies are often preferred over female babies? Or is it because China has a one-child only policy? Or is it because male have the right to keep their family name? Regardless the reason, the unnatural gender imbalance has grown drastically since the 1980s.

How are these countries going handle the consequences of gendercide? Will we see more robot girlfriends as seen in the video below? Are robot girlfriends only a preface to a larger picture, where humans and machines merge into one; ushering in technological singularity?

Watch the video below and let us know what you think in the comments section below or on our Facebook fan page.

Drama out of FHM India…

Close your eyes if you’re offended, ashamed, or embarrassed when you bare witness to the sensual curves, sultry lips and seductive eyes of famous Pakistani actress, Veena Malik.

Eyes still wide-open? Mine too.

So what’s the kerfuffle?

Recent reports have surfaced stating Malik has filed a subpoena against FHM India for allegedly “morphing her photo.”

FHM has gone on record stating that “nothing was changed, and Malik agreed to shoot in the nude.”

Kabeer Sharma, FHM Editor goes on to speculate that Malik, “probably had to come up with a story after facing some sort of backlash.”

Pakistan currently is home to 170-million people; 97 per cent which are of Muslim religion and take pride in conservatism.

And kudos to Pakistan; however, this shouldn’t be a surprise. FHM is a men’s magazine famous for objectifying and parading the woman’s body.

Was Veena Malik the first Desi to show skin? No. There have been many other FHM India beauties to grace the cover; all in scantily clad outfits, even shooting in the nude.

The controversy dives deeper.

Malik bares the ISI initials on her left arm: an acronym for the Pakistani Intelligence; a spy network notorious for masterminding attacks on India soil.

The cover insinuates that the ISI has a, “Hand in the end of the world too,” which is critical thinking both countries wish to steer away from.

Today, Malik currently is looking to sue FHM for 100-million rupees or $2-million dollars.

Who’s side are you on?
