Sometimes technology from Hollywood movies actually come true, and Google’s computer-led self-driving car is just one example.
On a mission to make roads safer, Google announced their self driving project to the world in 2010 aiming to cut the number of car accidents by half.
Fast forward to 2012 and 300,000 miles later, the technology is the real-deal yet to record any accidents.
Although this is just a taste of what might be ahead for us–rigorous testing and safety requirements will need to be performed before you see any of these self-driving cars on the road.
For now check out one of Google’s latest videos of Steve Mahan test driving Google’s pre-programmed route, it even takes him through drive-through!
What do you think of Google’s project, fascinated by its achievements thus far?
