Daily Deal giant LivingSocial spreads its wings even wider today, introducing “LivingSocial Room Service”: a new instant delivery option that offers “white glove delivery” to LivingSocial members in the comfort of their own home.
The Washington based daily deal website is currently testing the new initiative in over 70 D.C. restaurants; aiming to convert more buyers into customers, while making it easier for restaurant owners to maximize table service without having to expand and renovate.
LivingSocial Room Service will go head-to-head with Groupon Now — both jousting for the top spot.
Currently, the daily deal industry stands tall — realizing its potential in playing a more prominent role in mainstream commerce; having the potential to influence everyday transactions in today’s free market from hard money to digital transfers.
With more small-medium enterprises (SMEs) vying for publicity and affordable advertising on daily deal websites; Paypal’s prediction of NFC technology and smartphones and tablets destroying the physical wallet by 2015 may come true earlier than expected.
Are we years away from George Orwell 1984? Are our smartphones and tablets a step down from the mark of the beast?
